Many parents are surprised to learn that tuition only covers approximately 80% of the cost of an Oakland University education. OU students benefit from donor support not only academically, but also through the "extras" that round out their college experience, such as the Writing and Tutoring Centers, Study Abroad, Career Services, the Center for Student Activities, and more.

The OU Parents Fund was created to enhance the experience for current Oakland students. Each year, the fund supports areas of critical concern to parents, educators and students.

Parents Fund donors are eligible for membership in our donor recognition societies, will be listed in our annual Donor Honor Roll and may receive invitations to exclusive donor events.

What has the OU Parents Fund supported?

In 2015, the OU Parents Fund supported campus safety initiatives with the Oakland University Police Department. Because of the generous support of parents like you, updates were able to be made to the community liaison office in Vandenberg Hall (pictured), and new radar equipment was purchased for a campus patrol car.

A huge thank you to all the parents who donated to the OU Parents Fund! You are supporting campus initiatives to keep all students safe and productive on campus!

As the OU Parents Fund continues to grow, additional projects will benefit.

Thank you for your support!
